EndeavourOS: Getting Started

I’ve been an enthusiastic user of Linux since reading The Cathedral and the Bazaar, an essay that attempts to describe “exactly what it is that makes the Linux community such a fountain of good software”.

EndeavourOS is a terminal-centric, rolling distribution that gives access to the latest software in the Arch Linux official repositories using the pacman tool. The system updates often, usually daily. The emphasis is on the user.

It’s easy to try the EndeavourOS default XFCE desktop by making a live disk from a downloaded ISO file and its installer lets you choose from 14 desktop flavors when performing the installation onto hardware. I particularly like the KDE Plasma desktop and have found that EndeavourOS is one of only a few Linux distributions that has the latest version.

After landing, discover EndeavourOS.
